After prolonged use of the water softener, the resin beads become saturated. Fortunately, this device is self-cleaning. Salt causes the resin beads to release the stored limescale, which is then flushed out with the brine solution. This process is called "regeneration." The regeneration takes place automatically. You only need to enter the tested water hardness into the device’s display and the system independently calculates the most efficient regeneration schedule. The display also shows the number of liters available before a new regeneration cycle is required.
