A Gastronorm container (GN container) is an indispensable part of every professional kitchen. In the commercial kitchen, you can never have enough GN containers or trays. Using GN trays with the same dimensions makes working in the kitchen much more efficient. Since GN containers are stackable, they are perfect for storage and take up very little space in the kitchen. This lid is transparent and also made of polycarbonate, matching the polycarbonate GN containers from Maxima.

What is Gastronorm?

Gastronorm is a global standard for the size of these containers. The major advantage is that, due to the same dimensions, they can be used in combination with a variety of commercial kitchen equipment. GN containers are suitable for use in ovens, refrigerators, freezers, saladette counters, display units, bain-maries and even chafing dishes. Using GN containers with the same dimensions significantly improves kitchen efficiency. Furthermore, the GN container meets European food safety requirements.

Advantages of Polycarbonate

Using polycarbonate for GN containers and lids offers many advantages: the material is virtually indestructible and, thanks to its transparency, the contents of the container can be viewed from all sides. It is also an odorless and tasteless material that does not absorb these properties from the food. The biggest advantage, however, lies in easy cleaning: polycarbonate GN containers and lids are dishwasher safe, dry quickly and are temperature-resistant from -40 to 100°C.
